Once again the elite recruiters of the SEC show no matter where a prospect is from, if you can play in the nation’s toughest league, they will find you. The latest example comes from top Connecticut prospect C.J. Holmes, who announced his Top 7 Saturday night.
Among the seven historic college football programs to make the list, both Alabama and Tennessee from the SEC were listed:

The 6-foot, 200-pound Holmes is ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 18 athlete recruit in the nation and the No. 2 overall prospect from Connecticut according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Holmes is also scheduled to participate in Nike’s July elite Opening Finals camp, held at the company’s world headquarters of Beaverton, Oregon.
As a junior, Holmes was named to USA TODAY’s Connecticut First Team All-State and Class A First Team All New England. Checkout his incredibly high speed and athleticism displayed from the running back position in his junior season highlight reel:
