Whenever there is a shakeup with the coaching staff, there is always a concern recruits are not going to respond to the new staff, question their commitment or be opened to new schools.
Sometimes a new coaching staff comes in and just re-affirms everything that made the school so great.
Kirby Smart has seemingly taken the mantle left by Mark Richt after his somewhat surprising dismissal and is continuing to build momentum at his alma mater.
The latest comes from an endorsement from uncommitted 4-star offensive lineman E.J. Price. The Atlanta native tweeted his approval of Smart and his staff (h/t Dawg Nation):
“I can’t lie I (am liking) this new UGA staff a lot and I just have a feeling it might get a little better.”
The tweet has since been deleted, but it is a pretty strong sign Georgia is connecting with local recruits and might keep some of the best talent home.
Price is ranked the No. 8 offensive lineman in the country according to Rivals. The four-star offensive lineman is considering offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn and Michigan State among others.
He did not have the greatest reaction to Richt’s firing from Georgia, but meeting the new staff seems to have put the Bulldogs back in the game.
