No. 15 Oklahoma will play its 1st SEC game on Sept. 21, and it’ll be a big one, as high-flying, 7th-ranked Tennessee comes storming into Norman.

On Monday, we found out what time the showdown will take place, and it should surprise absolutely nobody that the matchup will be in prime time.

The Volunteers and Sooners will kick things off at venerable Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC, as the nation will get a 1st-hand look at Oklahoma playing an SEC game after decades spent in the old Big Eight and then the Big 12 Conference.

Oklahoma is off to a 2-0 start after a home blowout victory over Temple followed by a scare in a narrow 16-12 home win over Houston. The Sooners will try to stay perfect going into the Tennessee showdown when they host Tulane this Saturday.

Meanwhile, Tennessee has had no such scares. The Volunteers punished Chattanooga in Week 1, winning 69-3, before doing the same to then-No. 24 NC State in a 51-10 victory in a neutral-site game in Charlotte.

The Vols will try to get to 3-0 for that Oklahoma showdown this Saturday night when they host Kent State.

That means the Oklahoma matchup will be the first true road game this season for freshman Nico Iamaleava and the Volunteers offense, as the nation gets a prime-time look at the quarterback who’s making a lot of headlines early in the season.
