College GameDay opened the 2015 season with a video honoring ESPN Analyst Chris Fowler and his time at the table on Saturday morning.

Fellow analyst Rece Davis would be taking Fowler’s place with Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit and Desmond Howard, while Fowler would move on as game-time announcer.

Many of us were doubtful of how the transition would go. What would GameDay be without Chris Fowler?

According to si.com, GameDay didn’t miss a beat. Our concern was unnecessary.

Not only was the transition a smooth one, but the show’s viewership continued to grow in 2015. It became the most-watched show since it expanded in 2013.

The most-watched episode aired from Stillwater, Okla. when Oklahoma State faced Oklahoma for the Bedlam rivalry.

Following closely behind was the Alabama-LSU matchup in Tuscaloosa.

I guess we can officially welcome Davis to the family. But Fowler, you will never leave our hearts.
