The Florida Gators have gone looking for another kicker. They’ve found a lot of applicants.

On Monday morning, the Gators sent out word they were holding tryouts for a walk-on kicker.

By the end of the day, over 200 people had signed up for the tryout, hoping to earn a spot on the team.

Injuries have forced the Gators to look for additional depth at the position. Starting kicker Austin Hardin had missed three games with an unspecified leg injury, but returned for last Saturday’s 35-28 loss to LSU. Jorge Powell, Hardin’s backup, hurt his knee on a kickoff in the first quarter of the LSU game, and did not return. Hardin and Powell are the only placekickers currently listed on Florida’s roster.
