McDowell is a 3-star prospect per the 247Sports Composite, and is rated the No. 48 shooting guard in his class, and the No. 16 player in the state of Georgia. Virginia Tech was also pushing for McDowell’s commitment, but it looks as though he is looking to represent his home state.
McDowell is in his senior year at McEachern High School.
