Georgia beefs up 2025 recruiting class with commitment from in-state OL

Georgia continues to roll on the recruiting trail, picking up another piece in what should be another top-tier recruiting class for Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.

On Monday, Georgia added another in-state prospect to the 2025 recruiting class. It comes via a commitment from Dontrell Glover, a 4-star offensive lineman.

Glover is listed at 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds out of Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn. He originally committed to Alabama last April but reopened his recruitment after the retirement of Nick Saban and coaching change in Tuscaloosa. Now, he’s the latest key piece to the Bulldogs.

Though he primarily played left tackle as a junior, he is rated as an interior offensive lineman for the next level. According to the 247 Sports Composite, Glover is a 4-star prospect and the 16th overall IOL in the country.

Glover joins Mason Short, a fellow Georgia lineman, as in-state prospects to commit to the Bulldogs after previously being committed to Alabama.

Examining Georgia’s class

At this point, Short and Glover are the first offensive linemen in the 2025 class of Georgia. Overall, the Bulldogs are still in line to have one of the best recruiting classes in the country.

According to the 247 Sports Team Composite, the Bulldogs currently hold the 4th overall recruiting class in the country. 11 of the 14 commitments have received a 4-star composite rating while Georgia holds commitments from a pair of 5-star players.

Ohio State currently holds the No. 1 recruiting class for the cycle led by a trio of 5-star players. The Buckeyes are the only program with more 5-star commitments than Georgia while LSU is the only other program with 2 5-star pledges.
