The Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers have canceled a home-and-home series scheduled for 2029-2033, according to the Athens Banner-Herald’s Marc Weiszer.
Weiszer, who reported the news Monday evening, cited the SEC’s and ACC’s shift to nine-game conference schedules as reason for the “mutual” decision to cancel.
Georgia and Clemson originally agreed to the series in 2018 and 2019. The two teams faced one another in 2021 and 2024, with the Bulldogs holding the Tigers to just 3 points in both contests on the way to victory.
Clemson recently agreed to a 12-game series with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish that will run from 2027-2038. The Tigers also have their annual Palmetto Bowl matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks, giving them an incredibly packed schedule.

The Bulldogs also free themselves up for additional opportunities that weren’t accounted for when the two programs initially made their deal.
Georgia is 44-18-4 all-time against Clemson. The regional rivals haven’t played on their respective campuses since 2014 (Athens) and 2013 (Clemson). Overall, Georgia has won 8 of the last 9 meetings in this series.
