Georgia first half: JT Daniels, Bulldogs playing well at home vs. South Carolina

The SEC opener for both, No. 2 Georgia and South Carolina renewed their rivalry Saturday night at Sanford Stadium in Athens. The last time the Gamecocks played at Sanford Stadium, they won in a 2019 monumental upset.

If the first half of Saturday’s game was any indication, the Bulldogs are in for some revenge. UGA leads the Gamecocks 26-6 at the break.

Georgia’s defense has yet to allow a touchdown this season, and the Bulldogs’ defense turned 2 South Carolina redzone trips into 2 field goals for the visitors. Late in the second quarter, Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith sacked Carolina quarterback Luke Doty in the Gamecocks endzone for a safety.

UGA quarterback J.T. Daniels threw 2 touchdown passes to Jermaine Burton and A.D. Mitchell and running back James Cook scored on a rushing touchdown.
