Georgia LB Jalon Walker names Bulldog defenders who have stepped up as vocal leaders
Georgia LB Jalon Walker knows that somebody on defense will have to step into a leadership role in 2023. Nolan Smith held the vocal leader role in 2022, but he is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
When asked who has been more vocal this summer, Walker pointed to himself, Jamon Dumas-Johnson, and corner Kamari Lassiter.
Georgia inside linebacker Jalon Walker on who has stepped up vocally with Nolan Smith off to the NFL: “I have to get that energy to the linebacker room of Jamon Dumas-Johnson. He brings the energy for us … Kamari Lassiter as well”

Dumas-Johnson, a junior, is looking to build off of an impressive 2022 season in which he collected 70 tackles and 4 sacks. Lassiter, also a junior, is looking to step into the top corner role for Georgia.
Walker, meanwhile, will look to fill in for Smith. In 2022, Walker collected 9 tackles and a sack, mostly seeing time on special teams.
This is a Georgia defense that has seen countless players head to the NFL over the years. This young Georgia defense will hope to duplicate the success their predecessors enjoyed.
