Georgia linebacker Tim Kimbrough has missed the last two bowl practices and the reason is not entirely known.
“I’m not allowed to answer that,” senior Jake Ganus, a fellow inside linebacker, said Friday to Dawg Nation. “That’s one for the coaches. Sorry, specifically told.
Kimbrough started all 12 games for Georgia and recorded 67 tackles, third most on the team, and 5.5 tackles for a loss. Kimbrough was a solid and important player to Georgia’s linebackers and defense.
Why he is out is very unclear at this point. No one is talking as the quote above from Ganus suggests. Players who were graduating Friday were excused from practice and finals week just ended in Athens.
However, Kimbrough has missed the last two practices and he was not among those walking in graduation ceremonies Friday. It remains something of a mystery as to why he is not playing right now.
Whatever the reason, the Bulldogs will need him in place when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Taxslayer Bowl in early January.
