Georgia has been in communication with former North Carolina quarterback Jacolby Criswell, according to a report.
That’s per On3’s Pete Nakos, who notes that the Bulldogs are one of the programs who have been “in contact” with Criswell.
Criswell entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer earlier this week. He just wrapped up his 5th season in college football and his 4th in Chapel Hill. Criswell spent the first 3 seasons of his collegiate career at UNC where he backed up Sam Howell and Drake Maye. He then transferred to Arkansas, where he largely sat behind KJ Jefferson.
Criswell went back to North Carolina in 2024 and spent most of the year as Mack Brown’s starting quarterback following a season-ending injury to Max Johnson. Criswell completed 58.1% of his passes for 2,459 yards, 15 touchdowns and 6 interceptions this season at UNC.
Georgia is still in the midst of attempting to figure out its quarterback room for 2024. Criswell could potentially start for the Bulldogs next season, but he could also be viewed as a depth option by Kirby Smart and the UGA coaching staff. With Carson Beck and Jaden Rashada entering the transfer portal, Georgia is currently set to have 4 scholarship QBs on the roster in 2025: Gunner Stockton, Ryan Puglisi, Ryan Montgomery and Hezekiah Millender.
There is no timetable for Criswell’s decision.
