Georgia is down a quarterback commitment after 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis out of Christian School in Nashville, Tennessee, announced he was opening up his options in his recruitment.

“The recruiting process has been an exciting time and a huge learning experience for me,” Curtis said in a statement. “I am especially thankful to the coaches at Georgia for their belief in me and for treating me and my family with so much love and support from day one.

“This morning I spoke with Coach Smart and Coach Bobo and let them know that I still love Georgia, but would like to take some more time to explore all my options so I can make the best, most informed decision for my future. I let them know it just doesn’t seem right or fair to stay committed while checking out other programs. I want people to know where I stand and I’ve learned that making big decisions takes time.”

“My focus now is taking care of business during the rest of our high school season and being a great teammate and leader. I look forward to making the most of an open recruiting process in the months ahead.”

Curtis is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 1 quarterback in the nation for the Class of 2026, also listed as the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Tennessee and the No. 6 overall player in the nation for his class.

He’ll have plenty of options to choose from between Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati and a host of others as he looks for a new place to play out his college football career.

Curtis had been committed to Georgia since March. Georgia is now down to 2 commits in the class of 2026.
