Georgia names team captains for rivalry clash with Florida in Jacksonville

Georgia announced its captains on Saturday afternoon ahead of the Bulldogs’ matchup against the Florida Gators. They will be offensive lineman Tate Ratledge, quarterback Carson Beck, inside linebacker CJ Allen and outside linebacker Chaz Chambliss.
Ratledge missed significant time with an ankle injury that forced him to undergo TightRope surgery, and having him back in the fold certainly gives a major boost to a Georgia offense that has sputtered at times this season but has also shown to have all the pieces to really get humming when players are healthy and when the unit gets in stride as a whole.
Beck entered the season largely proclaimed to be the best quarterback in the nation across the college football landscape, and has faltered in the rankings, but the rest of the season will tell the truth on whether that falls more on him or more on issues within the supporting cast and not being able to trust his receivers with the amount of drops there has been.

Allen and Chambliss have served their purpose on defense with 33 tackles (20 solo) so far this season for Allen. Chambliss tallies 18 combined tackles (10 solo) with 1 sack over the same time period.
Georgia and Florida are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Jacksonville.
