Georgia-Notre Dame betting line flips: Bulldogs now favored

Georgia’s underdog status did not last long.

Notre Dame opened as a 1.5-point favorite at FanDuel and other sportsbooks late Saturday after the Irish defeated Indiana. The final score was 27-17, but Notre Dame was in control of the game, leading 20-3 after 3 quarters and 27-3 with 4:50 remaining in the game.

While ND’s performance may have been enough to have the Irish open as favorites against a UGA team expected to be without its starting quarterback, the CFP quarterfinal line has since moved. FanDuel and other sportsbooks now have Georgia favored by 1.5 points, a 3-point swing toward the Dawgs.

There appears to be some confidence in the UGA defense. The over/under on the game total has also dropped from 46.5 points to 44.5 points.

Notre Dame gets more than a week to rest up to face Georgia, as the Sugar Bowl is set for Jan. 1 in New Orleans. The Bulldogs enjoyed a first-round bye after defeating Texas in the SEC Championship Game.
