Georgia’s offensive linemen are participating in a season-long gesture for former teammate Devin Willock.

The Bulldogs’ offensive lineman will rotate wearing No. 77, which Willock wore, every week. The number will be awarded to whichever offensive lineman had the best week practice wise — who worked the hardest and played the best in scrimmages.

Willock, who was an offensive lineman at Georgia, was killed in a car accident earlier this year along with a member of Georgia’s recruiting staff.

Willock was a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports composite and was a member of Georgia’s 2021 and 2022 national championship teams. He was killed less than a week after the Bulldogs won their second-straight national championship.

Xavier Truss was the first lineman to suit up in No. 77, but it could be a new player next week.

The tribute is a heartfelt gesture that will likely lead to some competitive and fruitful practices for the Bulldogs, who just wrapped up their first game of the season with a 48-7 win over UT-Martin.
