Georgia reaches decision regarding general seating area alcohol sales for 2019 season

The SEC has lifted its ban on selling alcohol at stadiums, and now schools are figuring out whether or not they want to sell alcohol in their home stadiums, and if so, where.

Some teams will sell alcohol only in premium seating areas, while others are opening up the sales to the general seating area fans as well.

At Georgia’s Sanford Stadium, alcohol won’t be sold in general seating areas, at least not for the 2019-20 school year:

Many fans won’t like that decision, but perhaps the Bulldogs will loosen the restrictions in the near future, especially if alcohol sales take off in other SEC stadiums.

For now, though, fans at Sanford Stadium will have to do their drinking at the tailgates.
