Georgia receivers partner with police for ‘Bonding Over Books’ program

On Friday, Georgia WRs Isaiah McKenzie and Terry Godwin joined forces with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department to read to more than 40 local children:
As part of the “Bonding Over Books” program, Godwin, McKenzie and officer Lee Crosby got together to read a book written by former Georgia WR Malcolm Mitchell, who was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
In the wake of the killing of five police officers in Dallas and the shooting deaths of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge and Philando Castile in Minnesota at the hands of police, athletes and officers joining together to read to children is a much-needed sight.
