Georgia running backs James Cook, Zamir White dominate 1st half vs South Carolina
Georgia quarterback JT Daniels will get the majority of the attention, but running backs James Cook and Zamir White are the main reason the Bulldogs have a 28-10 halftime lead vs. South Carolina.
Cook was the better runner in the first half, but both were excellent. Cook gained 98 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries. White rushed the ball 11 times for 75 yards.
In total, that translates to nine yards per rush by the Georgia offense — not too shabby. That includes two Daniels sacks that resulted in -18 yards.
Georgia hasn’t averaged nine yards per rush over the course of entire game since playing UMass in 2018.
Of course, Daniels’ threat as a passer is one of the factors here in opening up the running game. He completed 7-of-10 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown in the first half. He also threw an interception at the end of the half, but it was off a dropped ball.
Here’s some of the reaction from Georgia fans, who are delighted by the Bulldogs’ newly-efficient offense:
South Carolina scores on a 1-yard TD. Maybe this means the Georgia offense will get to do cool stuff longer in this game.

#UGA is absolutely running down South Carolina's throat. This is getting ugly fast.
Bulldogs lead 21-0 with 2:23 to go after a 5-play, 78-yard, all-rush drive capped off by a Kenny McIntosh 32-yard run and a Zamir White 22-yd TD run. #UGAvsUSC

Georgia made a QB change last week & now they look like an entirely different offense. Hmm… weird how that works. ?
