Georgia and Kirby Smart are looking to get back to the College Football Playoff, after losing to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals last January. The Bulldogs are currently moving into the next phase of the offseason with spring practice and G-Day in the books. Part of the roster management involves seeing if there are any guys to bring in from the transfer portal.
One position where Georgia loses a ton of talent is on the defensive line, especially the edge position. With that in mind, Smart and the Bulldogs are set to host edge Beau Atkinson, who is 1 of the best players in the portal.
Atkinson has had 11 sacks in the last 2 seasons, and is being pursued by many of the top teams in the country. While he is visiting the Bulldogs, he also has a visit with the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes.
The portal is in full effect, as teams are trying to get those 1 or 2 extra pieces they think can help send make them a true national title contender. The Bulldogs still have more questions remaining that just the defensive line, but the edge has been a strength for the team during the Smart era in Georgia.
