Georgia snags former Texas A&M receiver Noah Thomas from transfer portal, per report
Georgia has earned a transfer commitment from former Texas A&M wide receiver Noah Thomas, according to a report from DawgsHQ’s Rusty Mansell.
Thomas visited the Bulldogs last week. He was viewed as a priority target for Georgia, which has now landed 2 marquee transfers at receiver in recent days. Thomas will join former USC receiver Zachariah Branch in forming a new top-line receiver group for Georgia in 2025.
Retooling the receiver room was clearly a top priority for Kirby Smart this offseason as, in addition to the 5 high school prospects Georgia signed at the position, the Dawgs have now added 2 transfers who both ranked in the top 35 among all available players by 247Sports.
Thomas spent 3 seasons in College Station, where he appeared in 35 games and made 73 total receptions. This season, he brought in 39 catches for 574 yards and 8 touchdowns, setting career highs across the board. Over the last 2 seasons combined, Thomas put up 933 yards with 13 touchdowns. Per PFF, the average depth on his team-leading 72 targets was 12.8 yards.
He’s a 6-foot-6, 200-pound wideout from Pearland, Texas. Thomas is a deep-ball weapon Georgia can line up on the outside and throw lob balls for. He’s long but coordinated, and made 7 contested catches on 14 contested targets this season, per PFF.
With Branch, Thomas, and Dillon Bell, Georgia has a trio that complements each other nicely. The Dawgs also have tight ends Lawson Luckie and Oscar Delp to work with next season. Quarterback Gunner Stockton will have plenty of weapons around him to help ease the transition from Carson Beck.
Thomas becomes the fifth known transfer commitment for Georgia. All 5 have come since Jan. 5. Some of Thomas’s highlights are below.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
