Georgia starting OL Tate Ratledge carted off field vs. Kentucky

Georgia entered Saturday’s road SEC clash against Kentucky as the top team in the country and a 3-touchdown favorite, but halfway through the second quarter, the Wildcats held a 3-0 lead.
The Bulldogs’ offense has struggled to find a rhythm all night and now they have a more serious issue on their hands.
With roughly 8 minutes left until halftime, UGA starting OL Tate Ratledge had to be helped off the field after suffering what appeared to be a leg injury. Once he reached the sideline, he was immediately carted into the locker room.
Ratledge has been the Bulldogs’ staring right guard for all 3 games in the 2024 season. He was replaced by Micah Morris, who has plenty of experience playing in 13 of UGA’s 14 games last season, primarily in a reserve role.
With 6 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Georgia has just 51 yards of total offense and has converted just 3 first downs on the night. The Bulldogs have converted just 1 of their 4 third down attempts.
The Wildcats were threatening to score, but Georgia forced a fumble with just under 5 minutes remaining in the second quarter, setting the Bulldogs up with a great chance to score. But once again the Wildcats’ defense held strong, forcing UGA to settle for a field goal making it a 3-3 tie at the 2 minute mark.
Kentucky is coming off a brutal 31-6 drubbing at home against South Carolina last week, so this would obviously be a monumental upset if the Wildcats find a way to win.
