Georgia Tech is taking on the NC State Wolfpack in a Thursday night ACC matchup. The Yellow Jackets entered the game with a 6-4 record while the Wolfpack were at 5-5.

About halfway through the 1st quarter, the Yellow Jackets pulled off one of the craziest pick-6s you will ever see.

NC State quarterback C.J. Bailey was attempting to complete a touch pass to a motioning receiver. Instead, the WR was unable to control the ball and tipped it in the air towards Bailey. Bailey also tipped the ball right into the hands of E.J. Lightsey, who returned the ball to the end zone for a 21-yard pick-6.

“Double doink. Tip drill. Pick 6. Thursday Night” is how the Georgia Tech account described the wild play.

That was the first INT and TD of Lightsey’s college career. The score put the Yellow Jackets up 7-0 with 7:18 remaining in the 1st quarter.

The Wolfpack would respond with a score of their own and the Yellow Jackets added a field goal. With 11 minutes remaining in the 1st half, the Jackets were maintaining a 10-7 lead over the Wolfpack.

This Georgia Tech team has pulled off several miraculous feats in 2024. The team began the 2024 season by knocking off Florida State in Ireland. Then, the team handed Miami its first loss of the season in Week 11. A win in Week 13 would ensure the Yellow Jackets at least tie their win total from 2023.
