Amarlo Herrera and Todd Gurley earned SEC honors for their week one performances Monday. Herrera was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, while Gurley earned SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors with Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill.
Herrera tied his career-high with 12 tackles and registered two sacks in Saturday’s win over Clemson. Gurley rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 15 touches and returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown.
