Getting in Alabama-Clemson title game will cost more than any title game ever

This year’s Jan. 9 National Championship Game is the second installment of the burgeoning rivalry between Clemson and Alabama.

Both teams field arguably the best combination of skill and talent of anyone in the country. Alabama has a juggernaut-defense led by Jonathan Allen and Reuben Foster, an immensely deep backfield, an elite freshman quarterback (Jalen Hurts), and arguably the best coach in college football history (Nick Saban).

Clemson has a Heisman Trophy finalist signal-caller (Deshaun Watson), elite athleticism all throughout the team, and one of the better head coaches (Dabo Swinney) in today’s game.

For this reason, it isn’t a shock to see the average ticket price sky-high. According to Stewart Mandel of FOX Sports, the average ticket price is around $3,000 — which is the highest for a title game on record:

There are tickets available for $1,100. This would be the least expensive option for anyone still planning that last-minute trip to Tampa.

If you have a piggy bank sitting on your mantle, and you have interest in attending that game, it may behoove you to crack that baby open and pool as much money together as possible to see this potentially historic game.
