Glenn Schumann has been a key piece of Georgia’s staff since 2016 and has served as the co-DC since 2019. He was in the mix for an NFL job this offseason, but Schumann will reportedly remain with the Bulldogs.
According to ESPN’s Chris Low, Schumann is returning to Athens after interviewing with the Philadelphia Eagles. That’s a boost for the Bulldogs defensively after already losing OC Todd Monken to the Baltimore Ravens.
Glenn Schumann, after interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles’ DC job, is returning to @GeorgiaFootball, sources tell ESPN. That’s big news for the Dawgs. Schumann was co-DC and called plays last year for two-time defending champs. Georgia had already lost OC Todd Monken to NFL.

Schumann began his coaching career as a student assistant at Alabama but followed Smart to Athens as the inside linebackers coach in 2016. After Mel Tucker left for the Colorado head coaching job, Schumann was promoted to co-DC in 2019 and served as the defensive play-caller in 2022.
