Greg McElroy includes 4 SEC QBs among his top 10 CFB quarterbacks for 2025

Greg McElroy knows a thing or 2 about being a college quarterback. The ESPN analyst and host of “Always College Football” led the Alabama Crimson Tide to the national title following the 2009 season.
Heading into the 2025 college football season, McElroy has looked around the country and compiled his list of the top 10 quarterbacks in the nation for this upcoming fall slate.
In the No. 1 spot is Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, but a total of 4 SEC quarterbacks made the cut for McElroy’s top-10 list. Those QBs are:
- No. 2 — John Mateer, Oklahoma
- No. 5 — Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
- No. 7 — LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
- No. 9 — DJ Lagway, Florida

Interestingly, a trio of former SEC QBs are also included in the top 10. Carson Beck of Miami started his career at Georgia. Sawyer Robertson of Baylor started out at Mississippi State. And Haynes King, now at Georgia Tech, was first at Texas A&M.
