Greg McElroy didn’t waste time at the top of his “McElroy and Cubelic In the morning” radio show on Thursday on WJOX to apologize for his rant from earlier in the week.
McElroy admitted that he had a hard time getting to sleep Wednesday night, and said he apologized to Alphonse Taylor privately, and then did it publicly on the radio.
“That’s how important it is, to be honest just had a tough time sleeping last night, just felt bad about it,” McElroy said. “Wasn’t the right thing to do. He had no business being dragged into my frustrations, and allowing my emotions to boil over yesterday was wrong. Absolutely 100% wrong.”
McElroy said Taylor accepted the apology, and hopes the issue is water under the bridge.
“He was a great player, and very grateful for his contributions to Alabama was similar to the contributions I made and every other player made to that university over the last 15, 20, 30, 50, 100 years,” McElroy said. “So very, very grateful to him and appreciate him.”
He reached out and apologized to me directly and we put it behind us. https://t.co/DE6szz1aLj
