Greg Sankey recently said the SEC was considering an intra-conference version of the Playoff, which made waves in the college football world.
Naturally, that has caused lots of discussion around the sport, and Sankey was asked about it again on Sunday.
While on hand in Hoover for the SEC Baseball Tournament title game between Tennessee and Florida, the SEC commissioner was asked about the league holding its own football playoff. He was ready with a quip about the College Football Playoff, saying the SEC basically held its own title game this year when Georgia beat Alabama for the title:

"Well, we kind of did that in January didn't we?"

Nothing is imminent when it comes to an SEC-only Playoff, but as we’ve learned from Sankey’s era as commissioner, he will consider every possibility (and usually make the right choice in the end).
First, the more pressing issue is what SEC conference schedules will look like once Texas and Oklahoma join the league.
