Gus Johnson doesn’t get speechless very often, as college football analyst Joel Klatt said on the broadcast of the Ohio State vs. Marshall game this Saturday.

But there was one comment from former Ole Miss running back turned Buckeye Quinshon Judkins that had him exactly in that state. Ahead of the game, Judkins made a point of pulling Johnson aside and making a sentimental comment that sideline reporter Jenny Taft couldn’t help but share on the broadcast.

“Where I played before, I never had a chance to have a guy like you, Gus Johnson, call my games,” Taft said of Judkins’ comments. “Gus, I have a feeling he’s going to remember that call for a long time.”

Johnson was incredibly moved.

“I’ve got to tell you, folks, he had me in tears,” he said.

Judkins has continued to play well at perhaps an even higher level of college football than what he experienced at Ole Miss. He’s been on a roll today, currently totaling 173 rushing yards and 2 scores on 14 carries.

Ohio State holds a dominant lead over Marshall, 49-14 as the game approaches its final whistle. The Buckeyes continue to roll during the 2024 season as they await their first B1G action next weekend at Michigan State.
