Kyle Davis is expected to do big things at Auburn in the future, but he’s got a bit of catching up to do.
The former 4-star prospect missed all of spring practices while dealing with what coach Gus Malzahn referred to as “personal business.” Davis is certainly still in Auburn’s plans, especially now that quarterback Jarrett Stidham appears to have brought new life to the passing game, but he has to start building chemistry with his quarterback and new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsay.
If Malzahn is to be believed, the sophomore receiver is off to a good start.
“I’m hearing really good reports,” Auburn coach Gus Malzahn said, according to Brandon Marcello of 247Sports. “Real good reports from (strength and conditioning) coach (Ryan) Russell and everybody around.”
With practices suspended until the fall, the Tigers are undergoing summer strength and conditioning workouts. This will provide an opportunity for Davis to get back into the swing of things and work with Stidham and Lindsay on his own.
Davis caught 12 passes as a true freshman for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
