Auburn’s defense dominated Arkansas in a 51-10 victory on Saturday, but there was one player missing from the game that was certainly a surprise.

Nick Coe, the starter at the Buck position, did not see any playing time against the Razorbacks as part of disciplinary actions by coach Gus Malzahn.

“He’s gonna have to do better off the field, on the field, so we’ll see how that works this week,” Malzahn said on Sunday.

On Tuesday, the coach gave pretty much the same exact statement.

“Yeah, we will see how he does in practice today and takes care of his stuff and all that. We’ll see how that works this week,” he said.

In six games for the Tigers this season, Coe has made 10 total tackles, two tackles for a loss and one quarterback hurry. Auburn will need him this weekend as they travel to Baton Rouge to face No. 2 LSU and its rejuvenated defense. The Bayou Bengals are second in the FBS in scoring offense, putting up 50.1 points per game while ranking third in total offense at 539.9 yards per game.

On the offensive line, Bailey Sharp, who underwent knee surgery in September, could start to see some time in practice and be back on the field soon.

“Bailey is progressing really well, we are hoping we can get him out there this week to take some reps,” Malzahn said. “I’ll know more later in the week but it is good news that he is progressing well. We need to get him back soon to give us some depth.”
