Former Kentucky wide receiver Hardley Gilmore seems to have found his next landing spot as he’s expected to transfer to Nebraska, according to Pete Nakos of On3 Sports

The 4-star true freshman wideout was one of the most key parts of an otherwise problematic Kentucky passing offense, totaling 6 receptions for 153 yards with 1 touchdowns during the season. That stat line does not exactly look impressive at first glance, but that has everything to do with the fact he was limited to playing in just 5 games due to a collarbone injury that he suffered during the preseason that hindered him.

He was originally the No. 149 overall player in the 2024 class, and marks a major loss for the Wildcats, who were working to make sure he stayed in the fold, in more than one way.

But he did, on the film, look like a player that with a healthy season could become a major asset to the team in future years. And it’s especially hurtful for Kentucky’s wide receiver room that is now lacking experience and direction with half of the corps made up by true freshmen.

Gilmore will have a total of 3 years of eligibility remaining at his next destination, in which he will be joining former Wildcats wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts and former Kentucky 3-year starter Dane Key. And, as for the Wildcats, if they make use of the transfer portal at the wide receiver position will also be something to watch closely as perhaps their largest position of need moving into 2025.
