Harold Perkins Jr. exited LSU’s game with an apparent knee injury on Saturday.

The star linebacker seemingly sustained the injury on a tackle attempt in the fourth quarter, but he didn’t take any contact to the knee area. Instead, he went low to deliver a hit and appeared to plant his leg wrong. Perkins was helped off the field and immediately went to the injury tent.

Shortly after, he left the field and returned to the locker room. He was walking gingerly and with a noticeable limp.

At the time of his departure, Perkins had 2 tackles in the game.

His status becomes something to monitor in the coming weeks. LSU hosts South Alabama next Saturday before heading into a bye. On the other side, the Tigers will host No. 5 Ole Miss on Oct. 12.

Perkins entered Saturday’s game with 15 tackles on the season, as well as 1.5 tackles for loss. His role is obviously a valuable one in the Tiger defense as he’s a versatile player who can move all over the field.

He hasn’t quite had a hot start to the season, but LSU doesn’t want to be without one of its leaders for long.

The Tigers had a 31-17 lead on UCLA when Perkins exited the game.
