Former Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III suffered an injury on Monday while helping a friend move.

The extent of the injury was unknown at the time of the initial report, as the Las Vegas Raiders’ statement on the matter said the team was respecting the first-round receiver’s medical privacy.

However, Henry Ruggs Jr. — the star receiver’s father — spoke with ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez and said his son is expected to be OK:

“He was trying to move a trailer or something — move furniture or something — and the trailer just kind of pinned him against a car or a wall or something,” Henry Ruggs Jr. said. “He’s pretty much OK, I’m about to go out there and see him in a little bit. It was just like a little open wound on his leg, a little incision. Like something had stuck him right there on his thigh a little bit.”

Ruggs said his son is walking on crutches at the moment, not putting much weight on the injured leg.

The Raiders selected Ruggs with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, making him the first wide receiver off the board.
