Here’s what ESPN’s FPI says about the SEC Championship Game

Published:
No. 6 Georgia will get its rematch against No. 4 Auburn on Saturday when the two teams collide in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the SEC Championship Game.
Auburn defeated Georgia 40-17 at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 11.
The first time around, the Tigers were able to hit the Bulldogs with a balanced approach on offense. Meanwhile, the ‘Dawgs offense couldn’t move the ball against a stout Auburn front seven.
Since then, Auburn has also taken down No. 1 Alabama to win the SEC’s western division. Georgia, the East division champ, hasn’t lost a game besides the one it dropped to Auburn.
How does ESPN’s Football Power Index view this rematch?
The FPI favors Auburn a second time around — but not by much. The FPI gives Auburn a 50.5 chance to win, meaning UGA has a 49.5 chance.
This one is basically a coin flip.
The SEC Championship Game kicks off at 4 p.m. ET Saturday and will be televised by CBS.
