Here’s what everyone is saying about Texas A&M after its shocking upset to Mississippi State
By Jason Hall
Published:
Texas A&M laid an egg Saturday following the College Football Playoff selection committee’s controversial decision to rank it No. 4 ahead of undefeated Washington earlier in the week.
The Aggies were defeated, 35-28, by a struggling Mississippi State team coming off a 56-41 shootout victory against lower-level Samford. Quarterback Trevor Knight left the game during the second quarter due to what appeared to be a right shoulder injury and never returned.
The Aggies trailed, 28-14, at halftime and failed to mount a comeback, despite outscoring Mississippi State in the fourth quarter. Obviously, Saturday’s loss will have major implications on both the College Football Playoff rankings and the SEC West standings, especially with Auburn surviving a surprising challenge against Vanderbilt.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to A&M’s upset Saturday:
Terrible performance by A&M in Starkville. No other way to describe it except Aggies didn't show up and don't deserve No. 4 ranking.

Well it didn't take long for the CFB playoff committee to eat their words. Guess Aggies couldn't handle the heat ??? #WhosNext

Playoff Committee member on Texas A&M: "They have 2 quality losses. Until Washington can lose 2 SEC games, I see no reason to move them up."

Texas A&M proved they didn't belong anywhere near the final 4. I'm sure they will only fall a couple spots though.
