Florida defeated Vanderbilt, 13-6, Saturday in a close game Saturday in Nashville. The Gators were held to a single touchdown, which came on a 4-yard run by Jordan Scarlett in the second quarter.
Eddy Pineiro provided two field goals, including a 42-yarder in the second quarter. Florida’s defense kept Vanderbilt out of the end zone and allowed just 118 passing yards.
Florida improved to 4-1 (2-1 SEC) with the win. However, the outcome may have been too close for comfort considering the Gators entered Week 5 as a double-digit favorite.
Here’s what head coach Jim McElwain said during his press conference after Saturday’s victory.
