Holly Rowe reacts to being named sideline reporter for ABC’s primetime games
ESPN has announced the sideline reporter for Saturday Night Football after the departure of Maria Taylor to NBC Sports.
Taylor was featured on the broadcast with broadcasters Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler.
ESPN’s Holly Rowe was named on Monday as the new sideline reporter for the primetime games. During an interview on Sirius XM College, Rowe shared that she recalls her first college football game — BYU against Hawaii — at 5-years-old and the impact it had on her life.
“My entire life has revolved around football. I’m grateful and excited,” Rowe said. “I’ve been going to games with my dad since I was 5-years-old … I plan my life around college football season. I think I’ve missed one college football Saturday in 26 years and that was because of COVID. I’m really excited and I’m just grateful.”
Rowe will be going into her 26th year of college football coverage. She originally started with ABC in 1995, before joining ESPN full time in 1998.
In her career she has also worked with Fox Sports covering college women’s basketball. Other feats in her career include working on CBS coverage of the Men’s Final Four of college basketball.
