Texas was at one point among the top college football powers in the country.

However, times have certainly changed in Austin.

These days, the Longhorns get rattled by opponents flashing the “Horns Down” gesture on the field.

So much so, that the Big 12 is planning to penalize opponents that use the gesture on the field this season according to the league’s officiating coordinator Greg Burks.

Here is what Burks had to say at Big 12 Media Days:

“If you do a Horns Down to a Texas player as an opponent, that’s going to be a foul,” according to Justin Martinez of the Oklahoman.

That’s about as soft as it gets.

Considering this news, be prepared for Arkansas fans to give the Longhorns all they can handle when Texas travels to Razorback Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 11.
