Hugh Freeze offers early glimpse at Auburn offense, Robby Ashford update

It is a new era in Auburn football, as Hugh Freeze was named the new coach last November. This isn’t the first time that he has coached in the SEC, as he was the head coach at Ole Miss from 2012-2016.
Freeze has been long known as an offensive coach, and he is expected to get the Auburn offense going in the right direction this year.
One position he is excited about is the running backs, as he believes the Tigers have a lot of talent and depth at that spot.
Auburn HC Hugh Freeze: “If you can run the ball, you can shorten the game. I think that might be advantageous to us this year… I think our running back room is solid, top to bottom. We’re going to lean on them a lot.”

“If you can run the ball, you can shorten the game,” Freeze said. “I think that might be advantageous to us this year. I think our running back room is solid, top to bottom.”
One player for Auburn who is going to be counted upon to do a lot for the offense is quarterback Robby Ashford. The sophomore quarterback threw for 1,613 yards last year, but it was on the ground where he was the most dangerous.
He rushed for 710 yards last season, including a season-high 121 in the Iron Bowl against Alabama.
While he’s dealt with an oblique injury recently, Freeze doesn’t think it will prevent him from missing the game against UMass.
