Hugh Freeze reaction: Social media abuzz with criticism as Liberty struggles while Auburn rumors swirl
Multiple reports that have surfaced in the last 24 hours indicate that Hugh Freeze is likely to be named the next head coach at Auburn.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that the Tigers have been is discussion with Freeze for several weeks and that a formal offer could be extended after Auburn’s season finale with Alabama today.
Freeze, the former Ole Miss coach, is 34-14 in his 4th season with Liberty.
But the Flames are getting hammered at home by New Mexico State 28-7 at halftime this afternoon despite being 24-point favorites.
If Liberty and Freeze can’t rally in the 2nd half, they will have lost their 3rd consecutive game since starting the season at 8-1.
Given the news about Freeze and Auburn, it’s no surprise to see college football fans and observers on social media paying attention to the Liberty score.
And not surprisingly they’re taking plenty of shots at both Freeze and the Tigers:

Hugh Freeze either got the Auburn job after beating Arkansas, or he's been trying NOT to get the Auburn job after beating Arkansas. The only explanation for what has happened to that team since.
