It’s now three-straight games that Ole Miss has lost, dropping the Rebels to 3-5 on the year and just 1-4 in the SEC. Each of the five losses has come to an opponent ranked in the top 25.
Here’s what Hugh Freeze had to say after a 40-29 loss to Auburn.
On the effort his team gave tonight:
Freeze: Proud of the kids.

Freeze: Down 33-29, we just didn't connect (with Evan Engram) then throw the int. So proud of these kids tonight.

Freeze also talked about performances from Chad Kelly ( 36-59, 465 yards, three TD, INT) and Evan Engram (nine catches, 95 yards, TD):
Freeze on Kelly playing so well: It's way up there. I couldn't see on the int but he battled and fought. He's hurting right now.

Freeze on what he would have told Evan Engram after he dropped the would be touchdown: That I love him.

It was another bad night for the Ole Miss defense, and Freeze took full responsibility:
Freeze on the running defense: It's my job on how to fix it. It certainly has continued.

Freeze on his defense this fall camp: I actually told someone this fall I had some (reservations) about this defense.

He also talked about a rough year for the senior group and how they deserve a more fitting ending to their careers at Ole Miss:
Freeze: These seniors deserve to go out as fighters.
