Former Clemson star Hunter Renfrow was not in the NFL during the 2024 season. However, he’s landed a new contract that brings him back to the East Coast and close to Clemson.

Sunday evening, the Carolina Panthers confirmed the addition of Renfrow, though details for the agreement were not immediately announced. Renfrow will attempt to make his comeback to the league in a wide receiver room that contains former undrafted star wideout Adam Thielen and recent first-round picks Xavier Legette and Tetairoa McMillan.

Renfrow began his college career as a walk-on for Dabo Swinney at Clemson and embarked on a legendary career with the Tigers. The wideout would help bring 2 national titles to Clemson (2016 and 2018), including catching the game-winning touchdown to beat Alabama in the title game after the 2016 season. He is still 5th on Clemson’s all-time list with 186 receptions and 13th with 2,133 receiving yards.

Renfrow entered the NFL as a 5th-round pick for the then-Oakland Raiders and was an immediate contributor. He produced over 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns across his first 3 seasons, including a breakout 1,000-yard campaign in 2021. Unfortunately, he never came close to that production across the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Now, Renfrow will get his chance to make his comeback close to home.
