Jalen Hurd missed Tuesday’s practice with the flu, but according to 247Sports’ Wes Rucker, Tennessee’s leading rusher should be ready to play on Saturday.

“I’m not allowed to talk about injuries, but he doesn’t have an injury, so I can tell you what he has,” Tennessee offensive coordinator Mike DeBord said after the two-hour practice on Haslam Field. “He has the flu, so he’s battling that a little bit, but he’s gonna be fine. We think he’ll probably be able to go tomorrow.

“He’s just battling the flu a little bit.”

The 6-foot-4, 242-pound Hurd has played a big role for Tennessee this year, rushing for 572 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also caught nine passes for 85 yards and a score. He is averaging 109.5 yards of total offense per game.

Tennessee (3-3, 1-2 in the SEC) will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. this Saturday to face No. 8 Alabama (6-1, 3-1). The game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. CBS will televise the matchup.
