A battle of undefeated teams will have to wait.

Saturday’s game between Coastal Carolina at No. 23 Louisiana is being postponed because of Hurricane Delta, according to Sports Illustrated reporter Ross Dellenger.

Dellenger is reporting that the game could be rescheduled to either next weekend or on Wednesday since both teams have an upcoming bye week.

One game in the SEC has already been affected by Hurricane Delta as this weekend’s LSU-Missouri game was moved from Baton Rouge to Columbia by the league on Wednesday.

The upcoming Ole Miss-Alabama game may be moving its date, too, according to Lane Kiffin.

While this is a weather related situation, there’s already been numerous postponed games due to COVID-19. Dellenger cites the AP’s count that 26 games have either been postponed or canceled since late August.

The Louisiana-Coastal Carolina was initially slated for Oct. 17.

However, it was moved up when Louisiana’s game against Appalachian State was postponed until Dec. 4 or 5 due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Appalachian State.
