According to 13 News, Saturday’s matchup between the West Virginia Mountaineers and North Carolina State Wolfpack will be canceled due to approaching Hurricane Florence.

13 News says they have been working with sources they have in the Big 12 and within both programs, and all signs are pointing to the game being canceled. We can be expecting an announcement sometime today or early Wednesday.

Sources say that NC State is refusing to come to Morgantown to play the game even if there was a 50/50 split at Milan Puskar Stadium. West Virginia is trying to continue to build on Will Grier’s Heisman status and would like to have the chance for an additional win.

Hurricane Florence is expected to make landfall in North Carolina later this week and make its way inland towards Raleigh by this weekend. NC State has already canceled classes from Wednesday to the end of the week.

If the two teams do agree to reschedule, 13 News says that the game could be played on Oct. 13, and that West Virginia’s game with Iowa State could be pushed back to a Thursday night game on Oct. 18.
