Nick Saban confirmed Monday that senior running back Kenyan Drake underwent successful surgery this week on his broken arm suffered during Saturday’s game against Mississippi State.
Drake, who missed half of last season with a leg fracture, is expected back for the postseason.
In his absence, Heisman front-runner Derrick Henry may see an increase in touches. Saban also expects Bo Scarbrough and true freshman Damien Harris to become vital aspects of the offensive game plan for the Tide.
“They’re young guys, so are they going to step up to the challenge and compete and show the maturity you need to get ready to play a game? And play it well? And do it on a consistent basis? That’s the challenge for all young guys,” Saban said.
