Ole Miss wide receiver A.J. Brown suffered a knee injury on Saturday night when the Rebels lost to the California Golden Bears 27-16.

The sophomore has really been coming into his own this season, already amassing four touchdowns and almost 400 receiving yards. That is already double the amount of touchdowns he caught as a freshman. He has become the favorite target of quarterback Shea Patterson.

It is a tough break for coach Matt Luke and Ole Miss if he is out a long period of time, but Brown seems optimistic that he will return to the field soon. Check out what he posted to his Instagram page vowing, “The return is near.”

The Rebels have a bye this week before taking on Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 30. The extent of Brown’s injury is unknown at this time.
