Isaiah Bond was a memorable player in a short time at Alabama. Now Texas hopes to get similar game-breaking plays from the dynamic wide receiver.

Steve Sarkisian on Wednesday spoke about Bond’s impact, and how long he’s seen his potential.

“Electric receiver for us. Guy that we recruited hard out of Buford High School in Georgia,” Sarkisian said, per Inside Texas. “Went to Alabama and had a tremendous year for them this year. Great deep ball player, deep threat, elite speed. We think there’s more to his game than just that.”

Bond previously said Nick Saban’s retirement was the primary reason for his transfer decision.

Bond led Alabama in catches this season and will be one of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers’ primary targets in 2024. Bond made 48 catches, 668 yards and 4 receiving touchdowns.

Bond will be most remembered for his part in the game-winning play in the Iron Bowl. He caught the fourth-and-31 touchdown pass on the play known as “Gravedigger” to beat Auburn.

Bond played in 27 games with 12 starts during his career at Alabama, and overall made 65 catches for 888 yards (13.7 yards per catch) and 5 touchdowns over the past 2 seasons in helping the Crimson Tide to a College Football Playoff appearance and Sugar Bowl Championship in 2022.
